Jeanice Franklin
Member of the Lussier CARDS since 2012
What is one thing you really like about being a member of the CARDS at Lussier?
I’ve liked meeting friends and I’m glad that it’s so close knit. I like just learning new things and knowing that I’m changing something. I like being a part of something that’s changing things to make them better.
What is one interesting experience or research topic we discussed at a meeting – something that stands out in your memory?
I have been dealing with pain in my back, arthritis, and high blood pressure.
I’ve liked these meetings; it’s helped to know they are doing research on that.
How has being in the CARDS affected your attitude about research?
It has affected my attitude towards research, but in a good way! I usually just don’t think about any kind of research – I never really thought about how I felt about it much at all. Once I got into the CARDS meetings and really paid attention to why they do [research], I felt more comfortable and learned a lot more about it. It’s definitely more important to me now than it was.
Tell us something interesting about yourself that people might be surprised to learn!
I’m artsy, I love to decorate! I’ve done interior design for some of my family and friends. I’ve learned from watching home decorating shows on TV, and I like all of them. I really enjoy it!
